40 children from the British School came to visit the Palheiro Gardens in November.  Sophie and I were waiting with Rafa the puppy for the group in the largo.  We heard them before we could see them then suddenly this mass of school children descended upon us.  We toured the garden first stopping at the Rock Garden where it was lucky no one fell into the pond.

Then we meandered down towards the chapel where we had a photo opportunity (photos kindly taken by Amr).  After this the children swarmed down the Long Border into the Jardim da Senhora, laughing at the box hedge shaped hens!

The children ended their tour at the tea house where they had a snack (yet again supplied by Lizzie Still, this time it was fairy cakes) and then set about drawing a chosen tree for their project.  I wonder if anyone chose to draw Grandpa’s favourite tree?

I think both the children and their teachers loved their visit and the freedom to roam in such beautiful grounds taking in the wonderful trees, plants and vistas in the Palheiro Gardens.

It was a pleasure having the British School visit us.
