Golfe Urbano Portugal: Ninguém sabe, ao certo, onde surgiu o golfe urbano; no entanto, em vários pontos do globo já foram criadas actividades destas.

População alvo: Sócios do Clube Palheiro Golfe; alunos da Academia de Formação Palheiro Golfe; sócios e juniores do Clube de Golfe do Santo da Serra; participantes no Gym Challenge; participantes na actividade de golfe do DN; população em geral.

Inscrição: €15 por pessoa; €10 para jovens das Academias de formação dos clubes da RAM (o valor da inscrição poderá ser menor ou, até, gratuita, dependendo dos valores angariados junto dos patrocinadores)

Competição: Individual

Categorias/Classificações: 6 (1-Formação: Masculino e Feminino; 2-Sócios da Federação Portuguesa de Golfe: Masculino e Feminino; 3-Público em Geral: Masculino e Feminino).

Descrição do Evento

Esta modalidade foi realizada pela primeira vez em Portugal no Município de Óbidos por um grupo de amigos, os Urban Golf League, com a colaboração da Câmara Municipal de Óbidos e a empresa municipal Óbidos Patrimonium. Mais tarde, em 2009, esse mesmo grupo realizou uma segunda prova da modalidade em Lisboa, onde a adesão da população foi positiva, a exemplo de actividades semelhantes realizadas em grandes cidades. O feedback retirado é extremamente positivo, tanto dos participantes como dos patrocinadores e do público presente no local.

Este evento, como proposto, seria jogado em algumas ruas do Funchal, com 14 situações. Cada “situação” equivale a um buraco diferente.

Os participantes darão a primeira tacada de um tapete de relva sintética e depois transportarão um mini tapete com 30cm X 20cm, que colocarão por baixo da bola para efectuar cada tacada.

A actividade implica uma grande mobilização de meios e corte das zonas de circulação aos peões, por isso será imprescindível para a realização do mesmo a colaboração da CMF e das entidades de segurança.

O material (bolas, barreiras, etc.) a utilizar será adequado às necessidades de segurança; as bolas serão dum material que permita o seu lançamento sem perigos, inclusive poderão bater num vidro sem quebrá-lo (ex: poliuretano).

Financiamento:

Uma vez que um evento desta natureza envolve muitos custos, de forma a proporcionar uma experiência inesquecível aos intervenientes, pretende-se encontrar um patrocinador principal cujo nome constará no nome da actividade (ex.: “Golfe Urbano (patrocinador) Funchal 2011”).

No primeiro quartel do século XIX, o primeiro Conde de Carvalhal introduziu na Madeira a rã verde (Rana perezi). As primeiras rãs foram habitar os lagos da Quinta do Palheiro Ferreiro e ao que parece o seu coaxar causou grande espanto nos habitantes das redondezas, que desconhecendo o batráquio se referiam aos rouxinóis do senhor conde. Passado pouco tempo as rãs verdes ultrapassaram os muros da quinta e começaram a povoar os tanques, lagos, charcos, ribeiros e ribeiras de toda a ilha.
Quase duzentos anos após a sua chegada à Madeira, as rãs verdes continuam a despertar a atenção dos visitantes da Quinta do Palheiro Ferreiro com os seus concertos, mergulhos ou sonecas sobre as folhas flutuantes dos nenúfares.
Esta manhã quando observava os nenúfares cor-de-rosa (Nymphaea  ‘Caroliniana Perfecta’) num dos lagos do Jardim da Senhora, uma rã, talvez farta de ficar com a pele seca nos períodos de descanso nas folhas orbiculares, resolveu experimentar o conforto duma flor, aconchegando-se sobre os estames no berço húmido das pétalas. Parece que gostou tanto, que não se incomodou com a minha presença e até posou para a fotografia.

Relais & Chateaux “Grand Chef” Albano Lourenço at Palheiro Estate, Madeira

Casa Velha do Palheiro, Madeira, part of the Relais & Chateaux collection of hotels, will be hosting a gastronomic weekend on 21 and 22 October 2011.

The Casa Velha do Palheiro team of chefs will be joined by world renowned Chef Albano who is the executive chef at Quinta das Lágrimas Hotel, in Coimbra.  He is responsible for the  ‘Arcadas de Capela’ which is situated within this historic 14th Century manor house.

Chef Albano  was awarded a Michelin star in 2004 and has also won the ‘personality of the year’ for the ‘Inter’ magazine which is the reference for gastronomic matters in Portugal.

Originally from Coimbra, Albano has experience from many different regions and restaurants of Portugal including ‘Sao Gabriel’ (one Michelin star).

He is renowned for his uncomplicated yet exquisite dishes from the Coimbra region which have become known as ‘Market cuisine’ due to his use of fresh vegetables and herbs.

Joining him will be the head chefs at Casa Velha do Palheiro – Madeira born Chef Francisco Quintal and French Chef Eric Weidmann – who will be using their vast experience of Casa Velha haute cuisine whilst showcasing all the gastronomic delights the region has to offer. Specially chosen Portuguese and Madeira wines from the Blandy wine vaults will complement this Autumnal menu.
