To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Relais & Chateaux, Casa Velha do Palheiro invites you to join us on a gastronomic journey. On the 24th and 25th of October Casa Velha do Palheiro will be hosting its annual Gastronomic weekend.  The guest chef this year will be Vincent Farges who is the Executive chef at Fortaleza do Guincho situated in Cascais.

After completing his education in France, Vincent worked in some of the best French restaurants to join the select team Buerehiesel with Chef Antoine Westermann, who would later inaugurate the Fortaleza do Guincho in 1998. In Morocco, where he remained for four years, he opened and was responsible for the restaurant La Bavaroise (Casablanca). In Greece, where he later settled, he inaugurated the Hotel Grande Bretagne (Athens) and was also responsible for several luxury kitchen chains. Apart from participating in various cultural events of national and international prestige, guest judging various gastronomic cuisine contests and developing initiatives with world-renowned Chefs at Fortaleza do Guincho, Chef Vincent is the creator of the highly acclaimed “Citrus Symphony”, a one season menu made ​​exclusively from dozens of different citrus fruits, from starters to dessert, which already has two highly successful editions in 2012 and 2013.

In 2010 Vincent Farges was recognized as Chef of the Year, both by the prestigious Guide Boa Cama Boa Mesa and the newspaper Expresso.

Joining him will be the head chefs at Casa Velha do Palheiro – Madeira born Chef Francisco Quintal and French Chef Eric Weidmann – who will be using their vast experience of Casa Velha haute cuisine whilst showcasing all the gastronomic delights the region has to offer. Especially chosen Portuguese and Madeira wines from the Blandy Wine vaults will complement this Autumnal menu.
Visitors to Madeira and Casa Velha do Palheiro are invited to make reservations for dinner at their earliest convenience to avoid disappointment.

Price will be €80 euros per person including all wines.
