GASTRONOMIC WEEKEND at the Quinta Casa Velha do Palheiro

28th & 29th of October 2016

Casa Velha do Palheiro invites you to join us on a gastronomic journey. On the 28th and 29th of October, Casa Velha do Palheiro will be hosting its annual Gastronomic Weekend.

This time we will be bringing the fine flavours of Normandy to the table with guest chef Olivier Barbarin from the fantastic Château D’Audrieu in France (Relais & Châteaux).

Olivier will be joining Casa Velha do Palheiro resident chef Rogério Calhau and his team to present a culinary vision based on authenticity and simplicity to produce deep rooted healthy tasty cuisine.

Specially chosen Portuguese and Madeira wines from the Blandy Wine vaults will complement this Autumnal menu.

Sweet and sour Mackerel cooked in a red fruit nage
Pan-fried Duck foie gras, Watermelon and Cantaloupe candied with verbena and yuzu juice
Marinated Tuna with beetroot and cherries, cucumber and curry foam, apple and beetroot chutney
Snapper gently cooked with champagne, diced seasonal vegetables, pistou sauce
Sautéed veal Medallion, mash potatoes and burgundy truffle
Passion fruit and pineapple soup with vanilla foam
Baba cake flavoured with local apple brandy, apple puree and sorbet
