Entry into Portugal and Madeira
Citizens from the European Community do not require a visa for entering Portugal. Portugal is also a signatory to the 1995 Schengen Agreement.

Transport from the Airport
If you don't have a package holiday arrangement here are some of the alternatives available to get to your final destination:
Car rental: There are several rent-a-car companies outside the airport arrival lounge. Look for the best offer! If you don't want to take the chance of not having a car when you arrive, book a car before you leave home.
Taxi: There will always be a friendly taxi driver at your disposal and glad to take you anywhere you want. The taxi rank is located outside the airport arrival lounge, just look for a yellow car with blue stripes and the sign 'TAXI' on top. For your comfort taxi transfer can also be organised before your arrival to Madeira. Please contact us for transfer arrangement.
Bus: The company responsible for bus transportation from the airport is SAM. After you leave the arrivals, follow the main road and keep on the right side. After approx. 100 meters you will find a bus stop. The ticket to Funchal is payable on board and only costs a few Euros.
Aerobus: Passengers arriving at Madeira can take an Aerobus which makes regular trips into town and stops throughout the main hotel areas. Ticket prices vary, but usually cost no more than €5. On your return from Funchal to the airport, the bus leaves from Avenida do Mar, directly in front of the TAP office.
Driving from the Airport
After you collect your hire car, get onto the motorway, direction FUNCHAL for about 10 minutes and get off at exit nº15 signed to Camacha, turn right and go up the hill, then you will find a round-about (Cancela). Turn left signed to Funchal keeping the gas station on your left. At the junction keep to the right, ER204 Funchal, carry along this road and after 1km you will find the village on your right hand side up on the hillside.
Please see below some indication for your arrival, if you arrive during the office hours 9:00 to 18:00 clock you will collect the key of the apartment from the reception at the Forum building if you arrive after office hours you will collect the key from the security guard at the Village entrance and we will meet you next day at the reception.
